1) Introduction:
These terms and conditions govern the use of Academy99's tutoring services. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you may not use the Services.
2) Booklet Policy:
Academy99 will provide the students in the tutoring sessions with question booklets that follow the SCSA outline for the given subject.
The content covered in each week’s booklet is to be decided by the tutor, based on the course outline followed by the majority of the students in the class.
The question booklets will be used as part of the tutoring curriculum and are intended to help the students prepare for exams and assessments.
Academy99 reserves the right to modify the content and format of the question booklets at any time but will use reasonable efforts to ensure that the booklets remain aligned with the course outline followed by the majority of the students in the class for the given subject.
3) Pricing Policy:
The price for the Services is as follows:
1 subject: $500 per term
2 subjects: $900 per term
3 subjects: $1200 per term
4 subjects: $1400 per term
5 subjects: $1600 per term
Tutoring fees for the Services must be paid before week 10 of the given term via bank transfer. This will be included in the registration form. If you join the Services midway through the term, the fee will be calculated based on the number of weeks remaining in the term and the number of subjects for which you are registered. To obtain a midterm quote for the Services, please email Academy99 at academy99tutoring@gmail.com. Academy99 reserves the right to modify its fees for the Services at any time, but will provide you with advance notice of any such changes. Academy99 will not be responsible for any bank fees or charges incurred as a result of the payment process. If payment is not received by the due date, Academy99 reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Services until payment is received.
4) Early Bird Pricing Policy:
For students who submit their payments prior to the commencement (first lesson) of week 1 of the term, Academy99 offers a discounted fee structure. The reduced fees are as follows:
1 subject: $450 per term
2 subjects: $810 per term
3 subjects: $1080 per term
4 subjects: $1260 per term
5 subjects: $1440 per term
If a student is enrolling for the term during week 1 and opts for a trial lesson, they can still benefit from the early bird pricing, provided that the registration form was completed before the term commenced. Upon completion of the trial lesson, if the student decides to continue, they will have a one-week period to make their payment using the early bird pricing offer. However, once this one-week window closes, the normal pricing structure will be reinstated.
5) Trial Class Policy:
Students may trial a subject they have not previously enrolled in or trialed for the remainder of the ongoing term. For example, if a student joins in Week 3, they will receive eight weeks of free classes. These trial classes are completely free, and students will not be charged at any time. If a student wishes to continue attending classes in the following term, they must enroll and pay the standard tuition fees for the new term.
6) Referral Program Policy:
The referring student will be rewarded with a payment as a gesture of appreciation. This payment will specifically be in the form of cash. The amount offered will vary based on the number of successful referrals made by the referring student.
An initial $50 payment will be given for referring one student.
Subsequent referrals will yield an additional $100 each.
However, to qualify for this cash payment, a specific eligibility criterion must be met:
The name of the referrer must be provided on the registration form of the referred student before paid classes commence. Failing to include this information will render the referrer ineligible for the cash payment offer.
The referred student must attend a minimum of one week of classes, excluding trial classes, before the payment can be made to the referrer. Should the referred student leave Academy99 before 1 week of class, the referrer will be ineligible for the cash payment offer.
Students can only be referred if they haven't previously used Academy99 services for any subject. A current student joining another subject will not be considered as a referral.
7) After-Hours Support Policy:
Academy99 aims to provide around-the-clock email and social media support to its students. However, as Academy99 is operated by university students, it is important to be reasonable in your expectations for response times. Academy99 will make every effort to respond to emails and social media inquiries as quickly as possible, but please be aware that there may be delays due to our academic and personal commitments.
8) Class Size Policy:
Academy99 reserves the right to structure the tutoring sessions as group classes with a minimum of 3 students and a maximum of 25 students. If the class size exceeds the maximum or falls below the minimum, Academy99 reserves the right to take action to manage the class size, which may include but is not limited to adding or removing students from the class or cancelling the class for the current term.
9) Behaviour Policy:
"Inappropriate behaviour" includes, but is not limited to, disruption of the tutoring sessions, use of offensive language, and any other behaviour that is deemed inappropriate by Academy99. If you engage in inappropriate behaviour, Academy99 reserves the right to ask you to leave the current tutoring session and to not refund the fee for that session. The parents or guardians of the student will be notified of the inappropriate behaviour.
If a student exhibit repeated inappropriate behaviour, Academy99 reserves the right to schedule a meeting with the student's parents or guardians to discuss the behaviour and the possibility of expulsion from the Services. If the student is expelled from the Services, any remaining fees paid for the Services will be refunded to the student's parents or guardians.
10) Intellectual Property Policy:
All materials provided by Academy99 during the tutoring sessions, including but not limited to handouts, booklets, and PowerPoint presentations, are the property of Academy99 and are protected by copyright laws. You may not use any such materials for any purpose other than your own personal use during the tutoring sessions.
11) Class Timing Policy:
Academy99 reserves the right to alter the schedule (date and time) for classes of a given subject upon the tutor’s discretion. Parents and/or students will be contacted in order to determine an appropriate time should Academy99 be unable to continue with classes at the pre-existing times.
12) Class Cancellation Policy:
By registering to join the Services, you have agreed to use the tutoring business for a minimum of one term. If you change your mind after registering and wish to cancel your enrolment, no refund will be given. However, if there are other factors affecting your decision to leave the Services, Academy99 will consider your request and may, at its sole discretion, decide to issue a refund for the remaining fees paid for the Services.
If you miss a tutoring session for any reason, Academy99 will make reasonable efforts to provide you with a printed copy of the materials covered in the missed session.
In the event that a significant number of students are unable to attend the scheduled tutoring session due to a school event (e.g. school ball, swimming carnival), the tutors will provide a pre-recorded video for the students to access. The decision to offer a pre-recorded video will be made at the discretion of the tutors, after consulting with the students.
In the event of a Covid-19 outbreak, the tutors will adhere to the rules and guidelines set by the venue. This may include wearing masks, practising social distancing, and potentially cancelling in-person classes. If a class is cancelled, the tutors will provide either pre-recorded videos or online classes as an alternative. The decision on the alternative course of action will be made at the discretion of the tutors.
In the event that the tutors are unable to host a tutoring session at the designated time and place, Academy99 will make every effort to provide an alternative learning experience for the students. This will include the release of a pre-recorded video featuring the tutor going through the relevant materials and working out solutions, as they would in a regular class. The video will be sent out to the students by the scheduled class time.
Please note that there will be no refund if a tutoring session is replaced with a pre-recorded video. Academy99 reserves the right to make decisions about the delivery of the Services in the event of unforeseen circumstances and will not be liable for any resulting disruptions or inconvenience.
13) Changes to the Terms Policy:
Academy99 reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to update or revise these Terms at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the Services. Your continued use of the Services following the posting of any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.
